Location AllBreed Obedience and behavioral School for Dogs

Rules:
*No females in heat.
*Males must wear belly bands. If you do not have one, there will be some there for sale.
*Responsibility for anything one dog should do to another (ie: biting) will be the responsibility of that dog's owner...but of course we don't expect any issues. We do have access to kennels that can be used for dogs if they just need to settle down and get a break from the craziness for awhile.
*The playdate is open to Italian Greyhounds only for safety reasons.

As always - this is playdate is open to ANY Italian Greyhound. The more, the merrier!

October 15th

December 10th

We will plan to have a photographer at the October playdate (Halloween Costume Contest) and the Christmas playdate (pictures with Santa). We hope you all can make it! Reminder emails will be sent out closer to each date, and will be posted to our facebook page also.

The "Baby It's Cold Outside" IG Playdate

FINALLY! We are going to have a playdate in Moorhead! (If you are closer to Minneapolis, stay tuned for another email as they are working out the details for a playdate on February 12th or 19th.)

A HUGE thank you to Wally at the Mutt Hutt for donating the building space to us so our crazy little IG's can run and have fun in the warmth!

The playdate will be on February 26th, 2011 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Mutt Hutt
1214 Main Avenue
Moorhead, MN 56560

There will be a required minimum donation of $5.00 per dog with all proceeds going to IG Rescue.

Rules:
*No females in heat.
*Males must wear belly bands. If you do not have one, there will be some available for sale.
*Responsibility for anything one dog should do to another (ie: biting) will be the responsibility of that dog's owner...but of course we don't expect any issues. Please keep an eye on your own dog for excessive humping, barking, etc as we want everyone to be able to have fun. We do have access to kennels that can be used for dogs if they just need to settle down and get a break from the craziness for awhile.
*The playdate is open to IG's only simply for safety reasons.

As always - this is playdate is open to ANY Italian Greyhound. The more, the merrier If you don't have an IG, you can still come over for a visit.

If we have a good turnout in Moorhead, we will try to schedule a playdate at least two times a year so we can all get together. I would hope to have the 2nd of the year outside somewhere.

I am excited to see everyone and their dogs - I hope you can make it! If you are travelling and need a place to stay, contact me and I will get you a list of dog-friendly motels.

If you follow us on Facebook, please RSVP there so I have some sort of an idea how many dogs will be there for toys/treats/etc. If you don't already follow us on Facebook, check us out by searching for MN IGCA.

Welcome, Dora, to ND/MN IGCA Rescue!

26 October 2010 - 01:53 PM

10/26/10 We welcome Dora (the Explorer) to IGCA Rescue of MN/ND. She is a beautiful 9.7 pound seal and white pied Italian Greyhound that is 1 year old. She has unique markings and has a very striking look about her.

Dora was found as a stray and went unclaimed for 3 weeks. Why no one would claim her is beyond me. She was turned over to our fantastic volunteer and Vet Tech, Deborah Hemstad at Pinkerton Vet Clinic in Minot, ND as the person that found her could not keep her.

Dora is a tiny bit shy when she first meets you, but within 10 minutes is your best friend. She just got spayed today and had some baby teeth pulled. She also got her other teeth all shined up so starting with dental care for her will be easy! She will be going to her foster home on 10/30/10 where I will get to learn more about her. She absolutely loves another IG she gets to see and does great with the office cats. She is just all around sweet.

If you are just coming for photographs, you do not need to pay the $5.00 donation.

Please note: This playdate is hosted by IGCA Rescue, but any Italian Greyhound is more than welcome to come. The more, the merrier! In addition, if you do not have an IG but have been considering adding an IG to your family, please come and join us. Help name the puppies!

18 October 2010 - 01:37 PM

Help us name Meeka's puppies, and benefit IGCA at the same time!

We planned to name the first healthy boy Angus, after our precious black puppy that passed away on 9/11/10 much too soon. From there, we wanted to stick with a cattle theme, which is strange, I know! We wanted Angus to be the theme, and be the first born, and turns out it was a blue fawn dog which doesn't make much sense but this way Angus really stands out which he deserves.

There are plenty of neat names, and in case someone wants to name one but isn't creative here are some ideas: Scottie/Scotty/Scotti for the Scottish Highland, Jersey/Jerzee for the Jersey cows, Devon, Heri for Hereford, etc....

Puppy #1 5:07 PM Male 9.1 oz Blue fawn - "ANGUS"

Puppy #2 6:09 Female 8.2 oz Red - "Kerry" - named by Nancy Kramer

Puppy #3 7:09PM Male 9.3 oz Red

Puppy #4 7:47 PM Female 8.4 oz Red

Puppy #5 9:19 PM Male 8.2 oz Red

Anyone that names a puppy will be sent pictures of that particular puppy as it grows and updated on it's status. Feel free to post here or email me at michelle_mehling@hotmail.com. From there, I will send you directions to pay for the Puppy naming via Chip-In (PayPal) or you can also send a check right to me made out to IGRF and I will send you my mailing address.

Meeka and puppies are doing FANTASTIC. They all have gained weight except puppy #5 who has stayed the same (as of last night).
