#155576 Pretty Penny!

The last foster we had (Wyatt) was very young and exuberant and big and bouncy. Izzy was not a fan and I thought he had turned her off to snuggling with other Iggies. But...looks like Penny is worming her way into Izzy's heart, lol!

uh oh.....I am falling in love with her.

Ha ha ha! Wichita is not that far away, right? She gets super attached right away. The first week anytime she had a door in between us she started screaming. I think she's finally figured out that am not abandoning her and she's getting a little more relaxed. She will even go out to potty without me now, which was impossible last week.

She and Izzy are currently snuggled up together on my lap. So sweet!

We've had a new foster for a couple of weeks now. She came in with the name Iggy which was too close to Izzy, so now her name is Penny!! We call her Pretty Penny or Lucky Penny. She's about 6 and still pretty skittish, but if you let her come to you she will jump in your lap and snuggle, snuggle, snuggle!!

One year ago today. Still missing our little man as much as ever. Sadly he has been joined by many of our friends from this site. I hope they are enjoying each other's company until we can see them again!

I am so sorry for your loss! What a sweet boy he was, and I know he will have lots of friends to play with while waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. Run free, sweet boy!

#152473 Arrivederci, Salieri!

Aww...just got an update on Salieri with his forever family in Saint Louis: his new name is Dexter, and he already answers to it. He goes on walks everyday, usually two, because his Iggy brother Kirby can only do about a mile (bad hips), so Dexter gets to take a second longer one. He's getting along with Kirby, and follows his new mom everywhere.

#152373 Wyatt

Posted by mrswattsfresh on 31 July 2014 - 08:21 AM

Salieri was adopted on Saturday, and we picked up Wyatt on Sunday! Our last 3 fosters must have spoiled us, because we forgot how wild some fosters can be, lol! Wyatt was found as a stray, and is working on potty and leash habits, and is sooooooo full of energy, he's literally bouncing off of walls over here! Mostly because he's probably teenager-aged and kind of clumsy and doesn't stop before he hits a wall, ha ha ha!! He's probably about 18 months and still getting used to his legs, and doesn't realize he's a big boy(16 pounds, probably will be closer to 20). His teeth are BEAUTIFUL, gleaming white! A great snuggler, and is great in a crate at bedtime, but NOT HAPPY about being put in a crate when I leave during the day! I ran out and bought him a deer antler to keep him busy and not chewing on other things in the house, so far so good.He is hilarious, but so BUSY! Unless he's collapsed, then he's out for hours, lol!

:) Maybe one day you'll be out and about in St. Louis and run into him!

Salieri just got adopted this afternoon by a nice young couple from Saint Louis. I think he'll be really happy with them, and they will keep him active. He arrived here in April weighing 25 pounds, and left today at 16.2 pounds, with a nice personality and lots of love to give. I think they'll continue to work on his walking and keep him busy!

Oh, no...I'm so sorry! God bless you and little Boo. Hopefully Jet and Gracie and Fig and all our beloved IGs at the Rainbow Bridge can enjoy each other's company until we see them again.

Well, he got SIXTEEN extractions, poor baby! Seems to be doing okay this morning, though! I'll let him chill out for another day or so, but can't wait for some walks around the neighborhood to slim this big boy down!

I picked up a new foster 2 weeks ago-Salieri, named after the Italian composer. We've been calling him Sali for short.  I think he's about 8 years old, and super well behaved! No marking in the house at all! He is also super overweight right now-he weighed 25 pounds on my scale, guessing he needs to lose 10-11 pounds for sure. He goes in for a dental tomorrow and based on his stinky breath I am expecting a few extractions. I think in a few months he's going to be in great shape! smile.png
