Just finished...

08 November 2011 - 01:00 PM

Here is the latest painting, just finished today. This one is titled 'Clock in the Woods'. That is my child self and Pixel, taking refuge. As with all of these recent paintings, it took a month of close to full time work to do, but I am pleased with the result. I will post a detail below.

the latest one

As I have mentioned, I am very busy producing some pop surrealism paintings which I hope to get placed in a good gallery. Pictured here is the latest completed, which is titled 'Breakfast on Turtle Island', featuring my five year old self circa 1966 having my Lucky Charms on one of those plastic turtle islands , the type of housing that was responsible for killing goodness knows how many baby red eared slider turtles throughout the sixties and seventies. The background treatment is a bow to the Little Golden Books that I grew up with.

Ziggy the iggy

I got in a sweet little guy today who is named Ziggy. He came out of a hoarding situation in Ohio, then went to rescue in Texas, and was then transported here to California, where we aren't quite as full up as they are in Texas right now. Little Ziggy is a dear, sweet little guy who is rather shy and overwhelmed by it all just yet. But he isn't really afraid of people or the other dogs- just seems to be on overload. Who can blame him with all that he has been through. A hoarder (and who knows what, before the hoarder) then a shelter, then Ohio rescue, then Texas, then briefly with my rescue rep, now at my house. Poor little guy. It will be good to get him settled into a good permanent home and know that he can just stay put.

Sometimes I get so busy that I don't even post about new fosters. But he is number thirteen or fourteen we have had here. I have lost count I'm afraid.
