  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

I posted about my beautiful Ginger cat last week and the post got wiped out with the server issues, so I just wanted to repost her pictures. She was such a phenomenal feline companion and friend to me, Sabrina (my other cat), Allie and Riley. Ginger endured years of poking and prodding for a myriad of health issues without a single complaint...not with me or the vet. I am finding some comfort in the fact that my vet came to my home to euthanize Ginger so she could be in familiar surroundings with me and her feline and canine siblings around her. It is so hard to lose a baby that has been with me for 16.5 years. She is with my Tara now, waiting for me at the Bridge. I still sometimes hear her meowing for me in my apartment. I loved her so much.

Those are beautiful photos, Deb. I don't remember the one of her grooming Allie. That is so very sweet.
I know mortality is the way of our world, and makes way for the new generation... but I still hate it. Thank goodness, at least sweet Ginger was well loved and had a long life and the ideal way of passing. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you for your thoughts, everyone. She was certainly a loving creature and much loved as well. My only hope is that I gave Ginger the very best life she could have possibly had. She definitely deserved that. Her absence is so huge and I miss her terribly. Thankfully, my other pets are here to comfort me.

I'm so sorry to read about Ginger. You had her such a long time, I know the hole she's left behind. I'm so glad you have your other beloved pets to help you deal with this. I'm sure Ginger had the very best life. May this give you some comfort. So sorry, Deb. hug.gif

I'm so sorry for your loss of Ginger. Before, I had IG's I had 4 cats. They lived to 18, 16.5, 16.5 and 15 years old. Losing them is just as hard as losing my Logan was at 16. One cat thought he was a dog. Rest sweet Ginger.
