It is with a very heavy heart that I have to say that my little man Kirby passed away today, He had been suffering from a very bad heart , this last week became unbearable for him.

So I made the terrible decision to help him cross the bridge, I was with him the whole time, I kept telling him that he would meet up with Corey and that they would be so glad to see each other again. I hope so! I could not bear to watch him suffer anymore.

He was gentleman and a great cuddlebug to the highest degree! I will miss those cuddles and his singing! Lord how he loved to sing, yodel whatever you want to call it especially chasing those *&^%$ squirrels.

Bunny and Monty seem to know that something was wrong and excepted it, they are fine . I don't know about me though, I will miss him so much.

This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

It came on last week, he starting having fainting , coughing and choking spells, it got worse as the week progress. I couldn't let him suffer anymore, so I took him to Cedar Vet, the vet there listened to his heart on both sides, she said that his heart was really bad( mumur) especially on the right side, that his lungs were full of fluids. She told me that she could prescribe heart meds, but she didn't think they would help with a murmur that bad. I couldn't let him suffer . Weds. night he was up all night coughing and choking. I really thought that I would have much longer that this, he was only 10. I have ordered his urn, its like Corey's except it's emerald green. I should have it by the time I get his ashes. This really hurts, he was the sweetest little guy, he had the sweetest temperment and gentle, he was my cuddlebug, though he thought he was tuffer that the average rottreiler, I called him my Kirbinator, he would patrol the back yard everynight before coming in to bed. During day he would lay on the back of the couch surveying his domain ( when he wasn't in my lap). Thank God I have Monty and Bunny, they both are champion cuddlers. But I still miss my little man and of course Corey.

I am so sorry Jeanne, I can't imagine what it was like to make that decision, but know in your heart you were able to make that decision. At least there is no more suffering and he can peacefully rest. Virtual hugs to you. Run free little man, no more pain...... sad.gif

I just received his ashes today, it was all I could to not cry until I reached my car. It amazes me that so much love could be in that little baggie. They were in a cedar box with his name engrave on a brass plate on top. The ashes in a little zip lock baggie with a miniture rose. Thou I have already ordered his urn (its like Corey's but a different color) it was a beautiful gesture upon the Vet's part. Oh how I miss him!
