Star started it all....back in 1990....after our Greyhound/Irish Setter passes away at the ripe old age of 17....I did my research and decided to get an Italian Greyhound. I loved Greyhounds, but wanted a small dog. Because I had 3 small daughters...it was very hard to find a breeder who would sell me a pup. Finally, after going to a local dog show...I was given the name of Silver Bluff Kennels, up in Ocala (they are not there anymore).....I called the Breeder up and she said she "might" have one 4 month old girl that she would sell to a pet home. I drove 5 hours to see her, and the rest is history. Oh, how I loved Star...my daughters grew up with her. Here is one of the last clips I have of her...only months before she passed away of old age. I was having a video chat with my friend Matt and recorded some of the session on a web cam.

What a precious clip of a beautiful dog. I didn't realize she was a Silver Bluff girl. Run free, beautiful Star!

She sure loved her Mommy. Look how many kisses you got in that short video clip. Your daughters will have such special memories of her the rest of their lives. My childhood dog that I grew-up with for 13 years gave me some of the happiest memories of my life.
Look what sweet Star started......6 more (+1). She's waiting for you Linda & ready to give you more kisses. xoxoxo

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

She was a sweetheart, Linda! I am so sorry she is no longer with you. They sure do remain strong in our hearts, though. Maybe Star and Tara are cuddling together, looking down upon us and smiling because you and I have found our way to each other in friendship. I hope so.

OMG!!!! That is like looking at an older Cairo he has Silver Bluff in his pedigree and he is so like Star in the face it is uncanny - even his mannerisms look similar - so strange - I can understand why you loved her so much - Cairo is my beatingheart.gif dog

Linda, I was the same way I had a greyhound years back and wanted another but did not have the space so looked into Italian greyhounds.
Star was so beautiful and I too realized I do not have any videos of my dogs and need to work on that.

You know, Linda, Star started so much! With her, you fell in love with this breed and because of that you have helped so many!!
Think of all the dogs you have helped, and it started with Star.. cupidgirl.gif Thanks for the video, she was really a lovin' girl,
wasn't she? Hugs to you, Linda - maybe Star and Sandra are snuggling together, maybe Star was there to greet her!

Linda, thank you for sharing that...

After watching it, I went to Max, picked him up and gave him a big hug!

Just a reminder that we are their guardians for such a short period of time. sad.gif

But as others have said, look at what she started... You've helped so many iggies!

She lives on, everyday!
