I recieved an email yesterday that Mr. Giz was put to sleep in Indiana Tuesday late afternoon. He never settled in his new home, they even contacted me to see if I would foster him because he was so stressed out at the new home. He colaped and they took him to the ER Vet and found out he was in accute Kidney failure and had a absesed tooth that had gone septic. They desided to put him down stead of let him continue to suffer. I am so sad. I could not even get back with them about taking him and he was at thge ER. They were asking me and I've been turned down to foster but he got along so well with Gracie and I. He ate, drank, took treats, played with Gracie and even snuggled with us both. I am so sad as I write this. I cried so much yesterday. I am camping with Gracie at my trailer in Slippery Rock, PA. It's just me and her and I needed to share this with someone. I will treasure the memory of Giz. That sweet man touched my heart like I never thought a dog could do so fast, in just 24 hours he had stolen mine and Gracies love. We will always remember you Gizmo, run free on the other side of the bridge...

OMG Gerri...I started crying when I read this. Such sad news. I was just thinking of him. Giz was so happy being with you & Gracie. You showed him more love and happiness in the short time that you had him than he probably had in his whole life. You were his angel. You did what you could for him and he loved you for it.
Rest in peace sweet Gizmo.
Sending you & Gracie BIG HUGS. xoxoxo

sorry to hear about gizmo, that is so sad.

was he in rescue, if so which one?

He was from Western PA rescue and the Foster Parents are moving and could not take him with them so he moved to Indiana rescue. I took him to Indiana to the Iggy 500 and gave him to his new foster family.

Thanks for all the wishes and hugs. Every time I think of him my heart breaks and I cry. I can at leaste remember he had a fun time at the Iggy 500 and with Gracie and I on the trip.

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

I'm so sorry, Gerri. That is just terrible news. At least you gave him some happy times before he passed. I will pray for Gizmo and you.

Gerri, I am so sorry! This must be so hard for you but you gave him love for the short time you were with him. He had some hidden problems that no one could have seen.
Run free Gizmo.
