I hope somebody wants him soon, because the longer he is here, the more he feels like MY dog, and the more heart wrenching it will be to let him go. It will be easier around here without him, goodness knows, because being a puppy he is a lot of work. And it will be easier on the other dogs, because he is an attention hog, and it is hard to give everybody as much as they need. But he has really grabbed my heart. When he first arrived he was very fearful, and seemed mature beyond his young age, like a kid who has had to learn to live a tough life from early on. But while he remains a wise little soul, he is very much the goofy, carefree little soul, and his trust and devotion mean a great deal to me.
Sigh... my little Ray....

What? Your inbox isn't crammed full with requests for a blue and white puppy? That seems to be the national rescue #1 request. I'm stunned.
He is handsome and once he is in a permanent home and maybe has an obedience class under his belt his confidence may build. I can understand the insecurity of this little one. All they expect out of life is food, fun and to be adored. In return they'll protect us, love us no matter how badly we smell or how we look first thing in the morning and sooth our souls. Pretty good symbiotic relationship.
You go Ray, you good good boy

I tell you what.... I am going to start sending out prayers to the universe for Ray's forever home to find him! Let's pray he is home by Christmas!

"One of the unspoken truths of American life is how deeply people grieve over animals who live and die
with them, how real the emptiness is, how profound is the silence these creatures leave in their wake."
