everyone I'm sure remembers Emmy, She was adopted about a month and a helf ago. Friday night she was returned to rescue because she liked to eat dirty diapers.. I'm not sure about the exact behavior, but I don't understand how a dog that can't jump up on her hind legs or lift both her font legs off the ground at the same time is getting ahold of dirty diapers?!?! are they being left on the floor?!?!? I'm just so upset that no one seems to want her!!! She is such a sweet girl. She went to a rescue event yesterday with Ruby and everyone loooooved her! A friend of mine from work is taking her husband to meet Emmy today. cross those fingers that he falls in love and she finally gets the family that she deserves
lots o' love from the Rojas pack

As canids evolved around human activities, they regularly dined on feces and this is found in all wild canids today. If the diapers were left where she could get them, she was enjoying a rare and wonderful treat. We always think the dog is responsible and in the wrong. Sad. shrug.gif

How hard is it to buy a trash can with a lid?? I'll admit my girls have gotten a hold of a diaper or two spikey_tongue.gif , but that's clearly MY fault for not putting them in the proper place. The cleanup is enough to help me remember to immediately take all soiled diapers straight to the can!! I hope she finds a better home this time. beatingheart.gif

HELLOO!

Any trash "violation" in our house is 100% on THE HUMAN!

I think it is better for Emmy to be back in rescue in this case....her fate awaits.

Man, that really, really bothers me. I am surprised they don't also put their baby up for adoption because it creates the dirty diapers. I would think that people who can't be bothered to buy a proper trash can would find a having a child a lot of trouble.
Little Emmy will do better elsewhere, so I think it is all for the best. But I wish people like that wouldn't apply to rescue to begin with. We give our all for these dogs, and it burns me up when they are treated as disposable! Grrrr!!!

This has really bothered me since I first read it, and I just wonder if that family is not using the "diaper eating" as an excuse because of some other reason, maybe one that they don't want to explain, like they thought they could handle a "different" dog but now the facination has worn off spikey_angry.gif shame on THEM! if it is true, I just can't believe the "diaper excuse" spikey_closedeyes.gif

I hope it works out with your friend. Emmy deserves better than the "diaper" people!
Fingers crossed for a good home where she is appreciated.

She was not in the right home, obviously it was their fault not hers. I hope she can find a great home because she deserves it. I'm also glad to hear from her, I think about her from time to time. Suky and Emmy Lou have always stick with me I guess I have a soft spot for IG girls

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.
