Angel, Sweet Rose
Posted 06 July 2010 - 09:14 AM
Miss Rosie Lump Lump my foster girl since Sept 09 (who was recently adopted by me) has been helped to the bridge due to the ravages of hemangiosarcoma. She finally started to bleed internally and that was not acceptable as diginity upon crossing is mandatory in my eyes. She had a real last name and a big bed to sleep in during her last few months. She also had love and wonderful vet care.
When Linda picked her up from Animal Control it was apparent she had a life of neglect. Rescue and it's volunters and vet Rose Eger worked hard to bring her through some rough times. She was always sweet and tolerant despite all her surgeries. She and pal Jessica went for a small walk this morning and a treat of yogurt. She passed quietly in my arms knowing love.
Rose's legacy will be evident years from now when her participation in a cancer research study yields results to better fight this particular disease.
Sleep well, sweet faced Rosie. You will be missed by momma and all your doggy family.

"One of the unspoken truths of American life is how deeply people grieve over animals who live and die
with them, how real the emptiness is, how profound is the silence these creatures leave in their wake."
