Here is Rocko, a 4 month old, given up due to the people not realizing what raising a pup, particularly an IG pup would entail. The housebreaking and chewing up everything issues. They would not crate train, so therefore has quite a bit of damage to repair to their rental, plus he chewed up pretty bad her husbands Marine uniforms. Did I mention they don't believe in crating at all! So he had complete freedome when they were gone, no companions, just time on his hands.

They also did not take him in to a vet after they bought him at a pet store and he is way behind in shots and needs his neuter. The pic is at the vets yesterday where he got an exam, one vaccine, med for his yeast infection in his right ear, he is underweight (vet would like to see him at 12#, he is now 10.2#) and he will go back on the 28th for his neuter. After then he will be brought up to date with his vaccines with his Rabies. I just don't get it when people spend big bucks for a pup and then neglect the necessary vet care.

He had been on Craig's List for $250 a couple of weeks ago and I responded offering her surrender to Rescue, which she politely declined but then sounds like she got no response to her ad and after more destruction from poor Rocko, they decided to give him to us.

Janice, the wonderful foster mom here, is holding Rocko.

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

He is a big boy all right. Looks like he will now have a great start to learning iggy manners. He sure is handsome.

He's adorable Edie, but I don't see gaining a pound or so as an issue? Seems like he's plenty big for his age. Glad you offered rescue as an option, and can't get over what people expect of a puppy!

Another Iggy saved from Craigslist - thank goodness. He sure has an adorable face! I bet his personality is adorable too once he is taught some manners by his new foster family. Thanks for looking after him!!

Thank goodness you got him into rescue! He looks adorable but you can see the puppy mischief in his eyes! He looks like a load of fun and now he is someplace where he can find his forever home!
