As you may have seen down in the off topic forum, I am organizing a group quilt project to benefit IGRF. I have about 25 volunteers so far, but still need about that many more. I would love it if any of you with an email list of volunteers and adopters could pass along the following info. I am thinking copy and paste into an email? Thank you a zillion times!

My name is Gwen Rosewater, and I am a fostering volunteer in Northern California. I am organizing a group quilt effort to create a raffle quilt to benefit
IGRF. My hope is to have many people from all across the country- and even
the world- participate. We already have volunteers from Japan, England, Canada
and Puerto Rico, as well as a many from here in the states.
The theme of the quilt will be hearts, to represent the love we have for
our dogs. Each block will measure 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" (this includes seam
allowances) and should contain a single heart, either
pieced or appliqued. How each block is handled is up to the person who
creates it, but I will provide a few guidelines and a simple pattern for
novice quilters who
want one to work from. Let me emphasize
that the blocks can be very simple indeed, so no one should feel
intimidated! Many if not most of the people participating are novice
The finished blocks will be sent to me, and I will piece them together,
then hand quilt it.
I anticipate that this will be a thing of great beauty, and that many of
us all across the country can sell raffle tickets at play dates or
whatnot. Perhaps the quilt could also be featured on IGCA rescue
Anyone who would like to join me in this, please send me an email at
gwen@iconicdog.com I will be sending out a PDF file with further
information to all participants soon.
