Well, Miss Gretchen left with her new family today. It was bittersweet, but I know she'll have a great life with her new family.

Congratulations, Miss Gretchen......you will be missed, but never forgotten (plus your only an hour away, so we'll see you for a playdate)!

Here's Gretchen with her new family!!!!! beatingheart.gif

It must be so bittersweet to see each foster leave......I know I would be so emotional. You did good...and the family looks great.

This one was particularly hard on me. Gretchen had been here over 3 months, and I'd really grown attached to her and her to me, but Nicole was very good with her, and Gretchen seemed OK with things when I put her in the crate for her trip home. Nicole sent me an email to tell me that she did very well on the ride....not a peep out of her, and when they got home, she followed Nicole all around the house. They went for a long walk and she settled down for a nap. I'm so happy I was able to place her with someone who doesn't work. Gretchen will have constant company during the day, which is what I was looking for in a permanent home. beatingheart.gif

What a sweet picture. I am glad she was picked by nice family. It is great that she has company during day so that she can adjast her new home quickly.

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

Best wishes to Gretchen in her new forever home! I don't know how you do it...I'd be a basket case if I had to let an IG out of my life after I had grown attached. Thank you for being a wonderful foster family.
Regards from Deb, Allie (6/1/07), and Riley (2/20/09)

Gretchen's new big brother, Rusty is quite the goober. I've never seen such a big, loveable lug!!!! He was a rescue dog too, so he and Gretchen have both been saved by this wonderful family!!!!!!!

It takes a strong person to foster. Even if you've become attached, letting go gives you the room and chance to foster and potentially save another Iggys life. Greyt job.
