So, after hearing about the IG's in AR that needed foster homes I asked Daniel if we could foster 2. He said no and I was upset and cried for like an hour. Well, he called me and we talked about it. He said that the next time there is an IG looking for a foster home that he would be willing to foster 1 dog until an existing foster home had an opening or.... if there are multiple dogs he might just go look at them all and flat out adopt one! There are a few requirements that I have to get taken care of first but I'm so excited. I don't want any dogs to need to be put in a foster position. But I'm glad that he finally understands how much it means to me to be able to help these poor iggies. My two girls are THE WORLD to me and I can't imagine if they were put in a situation like that! big_rock.gif big_bounce.gif

It is great that you want to foster. Just make sure that you understand the pack dynamics and that a foster is one of the pack and will work itself into the pack in whatever order they like. wink.gif

I'm sure that it will all work out. Both Starbuck and Panga are thrown into my in-laws pack once a week and they are well socialized with the dog park. Last week they were thrown into a house with 10 iggies and didn't have a scuffle! they're such good girls

Well, Catherine- when you are ready, just let me know. I think you need to get into the mindset of thinking of them as someone else's dog that you are caring for until they meet each other. If you tell yourself that maybe they will stay, it is the way to ruin as a foster parent. I cry sometimes, (often) when they go, but I know I can't help the next one until they do. Or I become the crazy hoarder with lots of "fosters" that never go anywhere. Oh wait. No, the ones here that don't go anywhere are hard to place. But I have hope for them.

You and Daniel both have to be ready. I will use you to help with transport and such if you are willing.

I'm so grateful for the help you've given just by taking the time to make the videos. They are fabulous! And that in turn will help them find homes that fit. See- everyone is a part of the solution.

I'm willing to do anything to help. Transport I can do as long as I'm not working. So it may be difficult at times.

That is wonderful, Catherine!
Since I can't have female fosters (my Pixel is far too intimidated/intimidating with other females) and generally find puppies more than I can deal with, my rescue rep only (generally) sends me adult males. I would imagine that rescue can work with you to come up with a situation that works for your family to keep everything doable and not too stressful.

Your husband is the best!!! And good luck fostering!!! I wish we had Ig rescues here =( I would love to foster as well.

.....Maybe I should start one here idea.gif but we don't have that many igs here so I don't think it would work out =/

Very glad your helping and I know those igs will be very grateful for your care =D

That's very sweet of both of you to want to help. When you love your own so much, it's hard not to feel for these poor fosters that need a new home or a temporary one. You will love it, it's very rewarding to help out the little guys with no voice to help themselves. I have found them all to be so sweet and loving.
