I picked up a female Iggie today from a man who found her about a week ago, put an ad in the local paper and nothing else. Got in touch with someone who called Rescue. Long story, nice man, nice dog.

This female was found in Tillicum, Washington which is close to I-5 and Ft.Lewis Army Base and McChord Air Force Base. She was wearing a sweater AND a raincoat, has a collar on, no tags. The man took her to his vet (he has a JRT)for scanning. Did not find a chip, but I plan on taking her in to mine for scanning, just in case it was missed.

Anyway, I have her in a secure place and will continue for the required 30 days advertising, searching, listing, calling, you-name-it, all sources before Rescue can put her up for adoption. She is in excellent condition, very friendly, walks around the house the man said on her back legs when happy and excited, pearly white teeth, etc., vet can determine is she is spayed or not.

Please spread the word even in your area as she could have been lost by someone traveling thru.

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

Gee, it sounds like someone was really taking good care of her and must be missing her quite a bit. I'm glad she made her way into your loving care and I hope she finds her way home soon.

So good to read about a found iggie rather than a lost one. It sounds like she is well loved, so I pray that her family is found soon.

Sounds like she was well loved and taken care of- hope her owners find her, but I am so happy she is found and not wandering around lost.

Still no owner has come forth to claim "Lexi". Since I have a copy of the newspaper ad dated 12.14, she will be available for adoption on 1.14. Will have to get her IGCA number and go for a vet check and have done whatever is needed. Hopefully she is spayed, hard to tell. But probably a dental, shots and heartworm testing.

She is doing fine in her foster home. She is with 2 other IG's, plus a cutie Bichon/JRT mix and 2 cats. The only thing foster mom can see now is that she is a little too curious about the cats and chases them in the house and out the dog door. Not sure what she would do if she got her paws on them but don't want to find out.

We have tried all sources to find her owner and it is sad that someone, somewhere is missing their baby.

Her she is in her Christmas jammies that Auntie Beth made for her.

OMG!!! In my haste to go out shopping today I posted OUR foster girl Bayleighs pic. spikey_angry.gif Dumb me!!! That is not Lexi!!!! I don't even have any pics of Lexi yet, but foster mom does. LOL. Sorry Bayleigh and Lexi for mixing you girls up. HOWEVER, Bayleigh is available now and on PetFinder (but the bio is old, and needs to be redone, she has come a long way).

After the horrendous accident with Bayleigh I was ready for some good stuff to happen and last night it did. A wonderful family who we approved for adoption last weekend came down to Lexi's foster home, romped on the floor with her, was smitten and we did the adoption!!!! Yeah, Lexi!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really needed this upper after the downer with Miss Bayleigh. Things are good after all.
