I wanted to take a moment today to remember my father who was a Captain in WW II and my cousin, who lost his life at the ripe old age of 19 in Viet Nam. No matter which war they fought in, it is a day to remember them all, whether they are dead or alive.

Tomorrow on the way to the vet, I will drive along the "Highway of Heroes" here in Ontario. It seems that almost weekly people stand out on the overpasses holding flags as another fallen soldier's body makes its way along that highway to our base.

Please take a moment today to remember those who made our lives easier.

Thank you,

And, just as an aside, today is 3 yrs off the cigarettes for me! I know my dad would be proud.

Yea! for you Trish.

It is so hard to comprehend the numbers of souls lost to war. My gratitude extends to them this day, as I can freely go about my life. Without them, it's hard to say where we would be. God Bless our veterans this day and always.

Our Parts Manager at my husbands business is a former Marine. He was so cute today....he was so excited because Applebees had free lunches for all Veterans.

I grew up right in the middle of Viet Nam...the first war that was really broadcasted on TV. It seems like War will always be a part of every generation. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are serving tonight and those who have lost their lives.
