Little old Ice (Izzy) was dumped at Broward Animal control and was quickly picked up by a Boston Terrier Rescue rep and immediatly passed on to IGC Rescue. I was the foster mom to this sweet timid CDA with rotted teeth and an oral nasal fistula girl who had small muscular seizures and peed every hour. Blood work showed a working diagnosis of insulinoma. Not a curable cancer but managable one with proper dietary frequent feeding protocol and small doses of pred. Ice blossomed and happily joined my pack. I've dealt with this cancer before in my first greygirl, Tessa.

A dental was not possible for Ice but antibiotics and some raw meaty bones did help some. This weekend Ice had her first in a series of grand mal seizure clusters. It continued as a daily occurance. This is not a fair way to spend her golden years coupled with her other cancer. Ice was helped to the bridge early this morning while in my arms.

I am angry that her origanal owner was so callous to her years of good loyal service. She should have had the dignity of her own mom to help her through this. I hope her few weeks here made a difference. Please say a prayer for her sweet spirit.

Run free, Izzy girl.

Thanks Vicky for being a haven for her in her last days. I'm certain she could feel that strong love, evidently better than she had experienced in her previous years. RIP little one.

You have my heart-felt sympathy. When we foster iggies, we care for and love them as if they are our own dogs. I'm so sorry your little Ice passed away. Even though she was with you for a short time, she made a loving place for herself in your heart that will be with you forever. She is running free and healthy now.

I am so sorry, Vicky. You always love your Fosters like your own and I know she must have felt like she was home when she came to your house for refuge. My condolences are with you Attached File  igbridge.gif   2.78KB   0 downloads
