It is with great sadness that P.J. passed away yesterday 9-21-14 around noon. She went peacefully at home after suffering from Glomulernepheritis/Proteinuria for 2 1/2 years. P.J. fought hard and did very well for as long as she could. She was a strong girl. We got P.J. through Seattle IG Rescue as a foster, and of course she was a foster failure. We kept her the first day we got her. She came from Bellingham, WA in a black mesh gym back with a cookie sheet underneath her, and a bottle of potassium bromide for Grand Mal Seizures. Luckily, we only saw small focal motor seizures a few times during her life. She belonged to an eight year old girl (and mom) who couldn't care for her any longer. She was locked up in a garage 10-12 hours a day because they were too busy (maybe this caused anxiety). Luckily, the lady realized this wasn't fair to P.J. and took her to rescue.
P.J. lived a grand life with a wardrobe of two closets full of clothes and she took part in owning a dog boutique for 3 years until we closed it. She was featured on the front page of the Tacoma News Tribune and front page of the business section too, about pets and their owners back in 2007. It was a fabulous article about the store and people and their dedication to their pets.
She was a traveler, skiing at Whistler Canada many times, Cannon Beach Oregon, and many other places. She was the most well rounded dog who you could take anywhere and people always wanted to pet her and love on her. She was used to kids since the little girl had her, so she loved children. P.J. was amazing, there will be no other dog like her. She had the most beautiful eyes and coloring when she was younger, and was a supermodel in many pictures.
She was on IG Post and IG Whispers since the beginning. P.J. and her buddy Logan were always together until he passed away five years ago. Shortly after he passed P.J. had Mast Cell Cancer which she managed to beat after two surgeries. She was our Heart Girl and we called her P.J. Baby. Rest in peace my girl and someday I will see you again on the other side, you are already truly missed for the house is too quiet without you, even with four other dogs. I love you P.J. Baby!!!
