Gracie

With deepest sadness and loss in my heart I have to let you all know that Gracie has passed on. We were called to come in and she was gone when we got to the Vet Hospital. They let me hold her and I did so for about 1.2 an hour or more. I talked to her and sang my silly songs that I do everyday to her. She was the love of my life. She helped me through my disability and the bad days of pain, dizziness and all that I deal with. She was such a good little girl. she went through so much with her Addison's and her sinus problems. But she hung in till the end. Thank-you all for your prayers and good thoughts they are what is keeping me going now. She is running after bunnies at the Rainbow Bridge healthy and happy my little girl. Posted Image Posted Image

Thank-you all for your prayers and good thoughts I have really needed them.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

Gerri, I am holding my girls extra tight today in Gracie's memory. I only wish I were with you to give you a much needed hug. I know you feel about Gracie the way I do about my girls and that fierce love makes loss so incredibly painful. I wish there were words I could offer up to ease your pain, but all I can do is pray for you. Allie, Riley and I are sending love and wishes of peace your way.

I am so very sorry,I was afraid to open the forum today because I felt I already knew the outcome. You were the best mom ever to your girl.I am truly broken hearted for you.Perhaps her and Flex and Jet can keep each other company at the bridge until you all are together again.

They say memories are golden

well maybe that is true.

I never wanted memories,

I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,

a million times I cried.

If love alone could have saved you

you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,

In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place

no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway

and heartache make a lane,

I'd walk the path to heaven

and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,

and nothing seems the same.

But as God calls us one by one,

the chain will link again.

Elizabeth and everyone, they feel Gracie must of had a tumor on her cranial nerves, cerabelum or brain stem from the way she was acting. They said she never did come out of it and kept having seizures even after valium & phenobarb many times through the night. Thank-you all for your prayers and thoughts.

Oh Gerri....I am SO very sorry about sweet little Gracie. Hugs to you and I hope that you are doing ok. I will never forget when I found out that I was Gracie's secret Santa...I was so excited to try and make something special for her! That was my first attempt at making a snuggle sack...and I remember you sending me that picture of Gracie snuggling on it. It warmed my heart to know that she enjoyed it :) just remember she will live on forever in your heart and in the memories that you have of her.
