I have been slacking and have not posted pictures of our sweet new foster! We got Dora on Sunday Nov. 24th, just 2 days before our Jet passed. She came at just the right time to give us a something to do, and to keep Izzy company. She is about 6 years old, has alopecia-no hair on any of her back at all!-and is a few pounds overweight. When she was turned over to rescue they said her home was just to noisy and busy, and she was too shy and had a hard time with people in and out of the house, and the rambunctious younger dog. The first 2 days she was really shy and only hung out with the dogs and cat. But...the night Jet died she jumped into my lap for the first time and has wanted to snuggle with me ever since. By the end of the first week she was snuggling with Eric, too! She is very playful and chases thrown toys, barks a very cute hoarse sounding bark, and gives kisses. She's so active that she's already lost half a pound which is encouraging. She's still very submissive and shy about being picked up by people, but so is Izzy, so I'm used to that. She constantly is coming over and flopping onto her back so I can rub her belly!
Here she is the first day we had her:

A few days later she was hanging out on the couch in Izzy's sweater:

And snuggling with Eric!

Then we started catching her goofiness on video!

She is very sweet, and I hope she finds a great home!

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

I'm glad that Dora is there to keep Izzy company with Jet's loss. It is awesome that she is already cuddling with everyone!

What a little angle sent right when you all needed it. But Karen, I'm in love Posted Image she is beyond adorable. If I lived closer you might have had your hands free of this one real soon.

Having one mostly bald dog, I can tell you hair is vastly overrated. ;) Dora is certainly a precious little girl!
