I did not expect to be here today. Eric called me at work in tears. He came home and found Jet dead in his crate. We think his poor heart gave out. Eric had the worst of it-he thought maybe Jet was still salvageable and shook him and opened his mouth to see if he was choking. But...he was already gone. A pet mortuary came and took him for cremation. I will get his ashes next week. Jet was Eric's sleeping buddy, they loved to take naps together and go to bed early. He rode "shotgun" in the recliner tucked up against Eric's or my left side when we watched TV. We loved to watch him run around the backyard with his fancy little trot. He had such a great personality and was so smart! We can't believe he's gone, we expected several more years of our little man. I'll write more later. I'm devastated.

This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

Karen, I gasped when I read your post about this on Facebook. I am so very, very sorry. I wish I could do something to take away the pain. Jet was fortunate to have been yours.

I read about this on Facebook, we are absolutely heartbroken. We love Jet and Izzy like part of our family. I have had a special place in my heart for Jet since before you guys adopted him. I am so glad he got to live out his days with you. He should have gotten to spend more time with you, but I am thankful for the wonderful life he lived. And grateful that you guys allowed me to be part of his life. Let me know if I can help in any way. We send our love. xoxo

Yep, me too "No not our Jet". I also rushed here to check. So sorry and saddened by this news. I sit here typing, holding Gracie and shedding a tear for our IGW friend Jet. Karen, you and Eric are in my thoughts and prayers. Hug Izzy a little closer tonight.

Karen & Eric,

There are no words to express how heartbroken I am for you. Jet was one of the reasons I held out hope for Boo's progress in her CHF. I guess he still is.

May warm memories of Jet bring you comfort during this difficult time.

Oh boy Posted Image Dear Karen, firstly my condolences to you and Eric for the loss of Jet. It must be hard, when you've just received your SS from Alessia and experienced (and shared) that sense of fun and joy, to be confronted with this loss. But, how wonderful that he got to enjoy that and, we got to share this with you, also how wonderful that he had a great life with you guys. Iggie hugs to you, Eric and Izzy, my thoughts are with you, Deb and Yanni

I no longer have to hide the roll of TP in the hall bathroom. I can leave paper within reach without worrying that it will get shredded.I can leave my bathroom door open. We haven't had to vacuum up shredded potty pads for a few days. No pills to chop up at dinner time. No getting up to let someone outside the second you sit down somewhere. Life is a lot neater and easier. I would trade it all in to get Jet back in a second. My sister had to tell my niece and nephew(8 and 7) about Jet, and there were many tears as he and Izzy are very loved by them. I am sure we will have a lot of discussions and questions when they are here at Christmas. Fortunately Tuesday when it happened was my last day of work until next Monday so I have time to get myself together. It didn't happen on our anniversary last Sunday, and it didn't happen on Thanksgiving, so at least a holiday isn't directly associated with it. My sister and niece and nephew usually spend Thanksgiving with me, but they are waiting until Christmas this year, which is great because Thanksgiving here this year might have scarred them for life. We actually picked up a foster last Sunday so Izzy isn't the only dog right now. This girl is skittish and unsure of herself, so it's given us something to do to keep our minds off of our loss a little bit. I am also glad Alessia sent our SS early, not only did he enjoy it, but we got some final pictures of him that we wouldn't otherwise have.

Eric said Wednesday he was at work stocking shelves(he's a vendor for Frito Lay) at a local Wal-mart, and he kept turning around. He felt like Jet was walking right behind him(Jet loved to trot right behind Eric while looking up at him-it was sooo cute!) and kept looking behind him expecting to see our little man. He also said he was sure he felt Jet in bed last night sleeping between us the way he liked to. I told him I think it was Jet's spirit visiting and letting him know he was OK. Maybe Jet will visit me, too. I'd love it.

Thanks for all of your support and prayers and well wishes. It is very much appreciated. It's touching to hear that so many other people were touched by Jet's life. Love you guys!

Karen you had me crying, but don't get me wrong smiling at the same time with the things that you no longer have to do. We think of the everyday frustrating things that our precious ones do. When they are no longer there, you realize how much you miss the quirks, the nautiness & the unconditional love that is stepping on the back of your heals. I so miss that.
Jet is letting you both know that he is o.k. You will be reunited someday. Take care.

Your update brought tears to my eyes! I am sure Jet's spirit is there telling your husband in particular that he's ok now. But for all the quirks, we wouldn't trade them for the world. I think all of us here agree that if there are no dogs in heaven, we will gladly go wherever they are to feel complete again.

"I think all of us here agree that if there are no dogs in heaven, we will gladly go wherever they are to feel complete again."

Amen to that, my Corey and Kirby has been gone since 2010 & 2011, and I still feel their presents and wish to see them again.
