They got him this morning. When they started searching the area where he had been seen last, they heard him barking. Julie ran over and he was in a swamp barking. They were afraid they would sink so the smallest went in. She got to him and he started to run but it was half-hearted and Carla caught him. The little devil bit down on her hand but Carla wasn't letting go. She said he didn't break the skin. He was starving - he ate a hot dog and a whole can of dog food. They had 3 leashes on him and put him in the crate.
Mary took him to the vet and he is de-hydrated and on fluids. His paws are all cut up but he seems OK so far. They did bloodwork and I'll let you know how he's doing.
The pictures are really sweet! You can see how tired and relieved he looks. The second picture is the part of Team Luigi that got him. There were many more people who searched including some of the neighbors.

Oh good! I am so happy they were able to find this sweet boy in time. I bet with this there will be a lot of homes interested in him, too. Don't scare us again, Luigi!

Yay, Luigi! Now must make sure he has a proper fitting martingale or harness. Thanks to all the volunteers...hard and sometimes heartbreaking work...this ended well.

So happy Luigi is safe and sound! I'm sure he is enjoying some much needed cuddles.

I heard there was a list to adopt him.

I think I would be on that list if I was closer!

the latest update - He has diarrhea and fleas and his liver enzymes are elevated. He's staying the night at the vet's and then tomorrow, Mary will pick him up. She is going to start him on Milk Thistle for the liver and will re-check in a week.

Luigi had to spend another night at the vet's. He still a slight temp, diarrhea and he's not eating well. Mary thought she would be able to get him today.
Mary is a real miracle worker and hopefully, she'll have him feeling better soon.

Poor Luigi! I hope he gets to go home soon. Do you know if he's going to a foster home or a forever home?
