This month is the 2nd and the 1st annivesary of my beloved Corey & Kirby passing. I lost them within a year and a few days of each other.

Corey was my first iggy , she was my introduction to this beautiful and wonderfully loving breed. I lost her to old age (she was 14) and to cancer.

Kirby was my second iggy, and what a character he was! He thought that he was the most toughest boy, but in fact he was a big wuss. But he was the most bestest cuddler ever!! I lost him to a bad heart,he was only 10.

I really miss these little ones still, I miss their antics , their temper tandrums, their hugs and kisses, their general goofiness.

My girl Corey was my photo bug, She loved to have her picture taken, in fact her picture was in the AKC Gassette magazine in the breed column in 2002. That same picture was used in Lillian Barber's book The Italian Greyhound for the 21st Century (page 2, upper left hand coner) (Thank you LIllian!) She and Kirby also graced the pages of The Italian Greyhound Magazine in the fun picture sections.

These two were two peas in a pod , as they said in Forrest Gump, they were like peas and carrots. They play together constantly (Corey was always beating up on KIrby) They slept together , and they were always on my lap.

They were such beautiful souls, and even though I have my Monty and Bunny , I will never forget all the love and fun that Corey and Kirby gave me! I will see you again one day my little loves! God bless you!

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

Jeanne, what a beautiful tribute to Corey and Kirby. I am also coming up on the anniversary of my Tara's death in a few days and I know the pain that those memories can stir. We have our beautiful memories, but the feelings of loss are so hard to bear. I am thinking of you as you remember your darling babies. I strongly believe that you will one day be reunited. Give Monty and Bunny extra kisses.
Regards from Deb, Allie (6/1/07), and Riley (2/20/09)

I can't imagine loosing two so close together....and your first, at that. I am so sorry.

Your hounds were beautiful and very lucky to have had you as their keeper.

Jean,
Breaks my heart you had to loose such great friends so close together. The pictures show you had 2 wonderful pups there. They will always live on in your heart, until you meet again, my thoughts are with you.Posted Image

They are never forgotton, are they. Logan will of passed 3 years on 9-11-09, I was thinking of him this morning again. And, now with P.J. so very ill with renal disease I hate to think of what's to come. They were my two peas in a pod too. They never left each other and we traveled everywhere with them. P.J. has done well without Logan because we got her Gelo, but she misses him. P. J. is my love so I know exactly how you feel. They never really leave your thoughts.
