Boris was quite well known at the vet's with a big red lettered caustion on the top of his chart. He was 9 pounds but ready to take on the vet and 2 or 3 of his assistants each year. I think it was because he had seen every vet in the county during that first week and he didn't like them at all. When he was about 7 years old, he mellowed and they all began to appreciate this sweet boy. He loved my cat Nutmeg, who was a year older than he was and thought she was his mother. You could always find him snuggled with her and often Percy, too. He was veryupset when we lost her to cancer almost 2 years ago. He would snuggle with Percy. He was my sweet lap cat at the computer and would sit with me every night as I read IG Whispers and played games. He loved to have me quetly stroke his chest and tummy as he sat on my lap - purring his sweet Boris purr.
Thankfully, he didn't suffer for long. What we thought was beginning kidney disease was cancer. When I brought him in today, he was very anemic and his belly was distended. Ed tapped the fluid and also did an ultrasound and found cancer. Just last week, his bloodwork was fine except for a slight elevation in his kidney numbers.
We let him go just a little before noon this morning - 2 days before his birthday. He can go see his 3 other littermates and Mama Meg (Nutmeg). He will also be meeting all of our other wonderful kitties and my childhood dogs.
I will miss you so much my sweet Bo!
Boris is the handsome grey guy looking right into the camera.
