before my uncle got married to his wife, she had two siamese cats. one was 21 and was very ill, died a few years ago so we really didnt get to know her. but she still had maya. she was a spunky, quirky cats that was vocal about everything. always meowing. when jessica (my uncles wifes name) got pregnant with my cousin sammy, she was worried maya would be jealous, because she was her baby. but to her surprise maya watched over sammy like a hawk. jessica is pregnant now with a second child and hoped maya would protect him or her with the same love she did sammy. jessica had always had siamese cats, since she was a young girl, they actually remind me of cats versions of igs. in the summer my other aunt whom lives downstairs from them was watching maya until jess got back, she had been noticing maya couldnt keep her food down. when jess got back she brought her to the vet who treated her with furball meds. that didnt work so she took her back, only to find out she had a severe case of stomach cancer, at that time jess was told maya only had a few week. but jess wanted to save her taking her to a specialist, they talked treatment and extended maya's like to aprox 5 years. well she barley lasted 5 months when i seen a post from both my aunt and uncle yesterday that maya had lost her battle with cancer wednesday. i feel so bad, she was such a cool cat. i wish i had a picture to share. they are devestated. my 2 year old cousin keeps looking for her too sad.gif. run free little maya i hope your siamese sisters greeted you at the bridge as well as all my passed critters. you will be missed!!

This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

I'm sorry, Jaime. I love Siamese cats...always had at least one growing up. My cat, Sabrina, is half Siamese. It is so hard to lose a cat and my heart goes out to Maya's family. I agree that Siamese cats are very IG-like.

So sorry to read this. Please give your Aunt a big hug from us! I lost 3 kitties in one year. Just the other day, I thought I saw the oldest out of the corner of my eye. Hoping her good memories will help her get through this.

I used to have a Siamese cat, they are the coolest and she watched over my daughter when she was a baby and was so patient with her when Libby would grab her tail. You should look into getting your nephew the Skippy Jon Jones books and also one called The Grannyman. They are all (children's books) by an author Judy Schachner and about Siamese--really cute books that will bring a smile. So sorry for their loss, and yours. beatingheart.gif

Thank you for the suggestions. I will have to check to see if they have those on ebay or amazon. That would be a cute christmas gift and a way to keep Maya's spirit alive. Thanks so much!!

!!Remembering Little Maya!!
both My aunt Jess and uncle Donn said it has not been the same around the house without their little siamese friend. I just had to post some pictures I found on my aunt's facebook page.
Here is Maya last Christmas, awe too bad she couldn't make it to this one.

Here is Maya rolled up in some tissue paper. Meowing as usual!!

Maya with my uncle

My 2 year old cousin Sammy with "ya-ya" as he called her

Watching over baby Sammy as his grandma (jess's mother) held him

My aunt Jess holding little Sammy, Maya in her favorite spot.

I feel so bad for them, even though she wasn't my cat I know what it feels like to lose a pet like that. She was such a cool cat. Like I said before she was so "Iggie-Like". My Uncle Donn used to call Maya, "the Nino cat". HAHA!!

R.I.P. Maya....Gone way too soon!!!

I thought that was the cutest thing about her. She constantly "talked'. You can even tell from the pics, her mouth is open talking...LOL
