I am SO HAPPY you have two wonderful rescues in your home!!  They have hit the jackpot!!

I love hearing the stories of their progress and I can't wait for them to learn all those good words.

#153965 Tribute: To know where you are....

Posted by BooBooKitty on 25 November 2014 - 06:03 PM

This is something that I obviously wrote for my precious BooBooKitty, but it is a fitting piece for so many people here who had been or are caring for a sweet angel while knowing their time is limited.  This is about how you feel when the loss finally comes.

To know where you are....

[Fonda Nichols - June 2014]

I live to be there for you

to know what you need

to know where you are

you're the air that I breathe

yes, I know you will leave me

the day will soon come

when you no longer need me

I will wake up alone

I remember your joy as you pranced through the gate

now I'm lost

and I'm cold

and you've gone away

My life was to care for you

to know what you need

to know where you are

now I look for you constantly

Pouring rain hides the tears

when the sky is so grey

I'm so lost

I'm so cold

since you've gone away

I am SO SORRY to read this.  I know just how hard it is to loose your heart like this.  You, Gerry and Razzo were all blessed to have each other.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

For the past 16 months I dedicated myself to knowing exactly where my sweet BooBooKitty was and making sure she was as comfortable as possible. When she passed away at the e-vet, I left her there and felt lost. My purpose was gone and I no longer knew where my companion was. I miss her terribly but.......she is home now.

Boo 062414.jpeg

This was the last photo of Boo.  It was taken the evening of June 24 after she had one of the best days ever!  She was perky, she ate food, she did not want to go inside where it was cool....she wanted to be outside with us and lie in the sun. Just look at her face!  She was so content.

About 10pm she started having difficulty breathing and I almost took her to the e-vet, but she was still so "bright" and her gums were not pale and ashen.  We did not rest well, but got up in the morning and she wagged her tail and took her pills and ate chicken jerky.  Then we were off to work.  She had 2 potty accidents and I finally decided to take her to the e-vet that is downstairs from her cardiologist.  We got there by 4pm.  They put her on oxygen and were going to keep her overnight.  I was on the phone with her cardiologist when they informed him she had just gone into cardiac arrest.  I asked them not to resuscitate and went to see her.  That was about 7pm.

I am going to miss her terribly.

I was so shocked to hear about Lulu's passing, but I was happy that she had made it into a forever home at the end.  The brain cyst (or something like it)  explains a lot of things concerning her history and behavior.

I am glad it was a swift passing.

May memories of Sadie bring you comfort during this difficult time.

#150312 Fig - gone 2007 - my sweet difficult girl

Gwen's painting of Fig is like the Mona Lisa ( or any iconic work of art) to me.

Gwen refers to the painting of Fig as her Mona Lisa. I was flattered that she paint it for me after not painting for so long. She also said that it got her back into "the ring".....as you may know, Gwen has been painting some of the most amazing pieces over the years.

#149284 Prayers for a home

Posted by BooBooKitty on 20 January 2014 - 08:05 AM

I am glad to hear she is with you and seems to be doing ok.

She needs a name.

Do you know the comic strip, turned comic book, turned cartoon character "Little Lulu"?
  • "Little" Lulu Moppet: Lulu is the title character and is often the ringleader of the girls. As such, she is the leader of their less formal club. Her best friend is Annie Inch. Lulu is a kind and sincere little girl who, though prone to mischief, usually ends up saving the day.
  • Annie Inch: Annie is Lulu's best friend and occasional co-conspirator in her schemes to best the boys. She is the twin sister of Iggy and the two were often at each other's throats. They have a grandfather named Grandpa Feeb. Like most of the characters, their last names were variable with the stories, mainly her name was either Inch or McGee, but was more commonly remembered as Annie Inch.
  • Thomas "Tubby" Tompkins: Tubby, whose real name is Thomas,is Lulu's friend and the leader of the fellers. He has helped Lulu many times and has tormented her just as much. His closest friends are Eddie, Willy and Iggy, who happens to be Annie's twin brother. When they are together, they can be as nasty to Lulu as any boy would.
