Our Tony (Antonio)

5 years ago and he pulled through. But this time we could not pull him through.
Gabbie woke at me up 6:45 am barking constantly. I went to their bedroom only to find Tony on his back and stiff. He was
in a Grand Maul Seizure. I took him to our room and put him on the bed. Called my hubby at work to come home.
I called a friend of ours with GPA and she said to put ice on the bottom of the back of his neck, which I did.
I went looking for Gabbie's Phenobarb but could not find it.
It took us an hour to bring him out of it. My friend called me back and said do not be surprised if he has had a
stroke. We called our vet at 9 who said since he was out of it to come in the following morning.
When we got the she noticed he had blood in his eyes. She thought he would be okay in a couple of weeks with
the meds. That was on Friday. Saturday, Sunday and Monday daytime he was doing better. By 11 pm that night
he was having seizures every hour. I gave him the phenobarb but it did not help. Tuesday morning he walked in circles
and then it came to the point he could not walk at all. He could only hold his head back wards. I prayed that God
would help him like he did 5 years ago. But to no avail. We took him to the vet to do the dirty deed.
Our vet said we did the right thing for him. She thinks he had cancer of the brain, and was sure that he was bleeding
on the brain.
Tony came home this past Friday morning. My jammie business paid for the urn. He will be in a 24% lead crystal
cobalt blue urn titled "Angel Wings".

"One of the unspoken truths of American life is how deeply people grieve over animals who live and die
with them, how real the emptiness is, how profound is the silence these creatures leave in their wake."

I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Tony. I am also sorry to hear you had to deal with such a stressful ending to his life. You did do the right thing for him. Esp since the seizures were so bad at the end. Poor guy. I believe he is running free at the rainbow bridge with all the other animals lost. Take care and my thoughts are with your family at this time!!
