It is with a very heavy heart that I am posting here - we lost our handsome Chase this morning - he had emergency dental surgery over the weekend and came home last night - he was doing well, we gave him his pain meds at 4:00 and we woke up at 6:30 to find him gone - he was asleep on Jay's should, his favorite sleeping spot - Run Free my Chase Man wub.gif

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

I'm so sorry to hear this...were there complications with his surgery? My thoughts are with you...

Thank you everyone for your kind words and thoughts -

He seemed to come through his surgery fine (he did have an abscess), they did a full 'dog' xray of him, heart. lungs, etc checked out fine, his vital signs were within the normal range - he had his pain meds at 8:00 at the vets when we picked him up - he was up about 3:30 and went outside to pee - we gave him his 4:00 meds and he went to sleep on Jay' shoulder - we woke up about 6:30 and he was gone - the other dogs were still in bed with us and hadn't moved when he left us.

He was a sweetie and will be greatly missed by us until we meet him again.

Oh Terri, I am so sorry. How heartbreaking, it is with tears of my own that I can only offer my sympathy and love to you, and Jay and the rest of your pack. I can't imagine losing a furbaby so suddenly and unexpectedly!!! But sounds like his last moments with you were peaceful and comfortable as he was in his favorite place.
Now he is pain-free and running free waiting to see you again.

Lots of love from us today!

My heart hurts just reading this. It is so difficult to loose your baby so suddenly like that. I had a JRT (my very first dog of my own) that passed away a few days after surgery, but was still at the vets. I can still remember waking up at 3 in the morning b/c the vet was calling. She had a feeling and went into the office to check on her, but she was already gone when she got there. It was such a shock b/c she had made it through the surgery and I had a space already made up for her to recover, but she never came home. Thankfully, Chase was at home with you and his pack when he passed. That's the best way to go...next to the ones you love.

Remember the good times with him and love on your other pups and hubby.
