About Me

First, I guess I'll say a little about myself. My name is Dakotah, and I am a seventeen year old Oklahoman, or Okie for short. Haha. I enjoy fishing, four-wheeling, playing in the mud, going to the lake, road trips, studying music, ballet, photography, writing, cars, and all kinds of art. I've owned two Italian greyhounds so far, and I have to say the breed has stolen my heart. I have a profound love for all sight hounds, and have decided that I will only own sight hounds from now on. Summer is my favorite season by far! Warm weather means I can do all the things I enjoy, and I can bring my wonderful puppy with me. (:
I am currently taking care of an amazing one year old male Iggy named Bud. He picked his own name because he wouldn't listen to anything else. I believe very strongly in rescue work, so when I was looking for an I.G. I searched animal shelters and rescue groups far and wide. Luckily, I ran across my best friend at my local animal shelter. That was three months ago, and we've been inseparable ever since. We had a quick, close bond from the very beginning. With Bud, I am finding that each Iggy is entirely unique. He is the total opposite of my last I.G.! He doesn't even know that he can run fast yet. Haha. He has an amazing sense of humor and never fails to make me laugh. He has the craziest ears ever. Theycan fold over partially, stick to his head, stand straight up, or anything in between. Every morning when we get out of bed he wanted to play fetch in the hallway. Bud has a rather large wardrobe, especially because he loves to play in the snow! I literally have to make him come inside when there is snow on the ground. He just can't get enough of it. He is the most friendly well adjusted dog I've ever seen, and he loves everybody as long as they give him the chance to sniff them a bit before petting him. He is incredibly well-behaved, and I can trust him with free roam of the house at night and when I'm gone. However, he can be pretty destructive if left alone without the love of his life, Daisy, my chihuahua. They do everything together, and hate being apart. Well, I'm going to stop rambling now and include a picture of my amazing puppy, Bud.
