Well, I have my first foster after more than a year away. He just arrived tonight, fresh from his neuter. The litle guy is sweet, but pretty antsy, which is very understandable given what he has been through recently. He was found by the side of the road about a month ago by a guy who was living out of his car. The man took RJ in to live in his auto for about three weeks, but had a jail sentence come up. RJ went to the mans family briefly, but they couldn't keep him, so contacted rescue, who took him in just a couple of days ago.
He is only about eight or nine months old, just a kid with puppy ears. He is obviously wondering what in the heck is going on with his life. Hopefully after a few days with us, he will start to relax and settle in.

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

What a story he has! Be prepared not to have him in your home for very long. Thanks so much Gwen.

Hi Linda. I, personally, haven't done any of that, but I believe my rescue rep has done all of the standard searching. She fears that he may have been dumped. ermm.gif

Remember Lexi, our member whose little boy escaped his pet sitter and they assume was killed as bait for a pit bull....if only she was in CA I think this would be the perfect baby for her to mend her heart.

I do indeed remember her. I hope that somebody as loving as Lexi will adopt him.

He is so handsome. His story is so like our Mickey's, who was taken from a drug house in Seattle at 4 months. He came to us "antsy" and still at almost 5 years still has some "baggage" but he is mama's boy for sure.

Good luck on RJ and thanks for taking him in.

I am grateful that RJ seems so far to be pretty free of issues. He's a little skittish, but much less so today, so I think it is more due to all of the topsy turvy changes in his little life, rather than a reaction to anything really bad that has happened to him.
He is so very cute. A total gangly teenager- he must be about 80% legs. I can hardly wait for things to dry out a bit around here so that I can take him to small dog park and give him a chance to run.
My eternal puppy Boo loves having him here. Boo is almost five chronologically, but he is younger than RJ in his heart.

I think Boo would love to keep RJ! Georgie and Pix however would vote it down. I feel a little bad for Georgie- he doesn't like the disruption of his routine. Normally I lay around in the evenings with him, just stroking him. But little RJ tends to butt his way in.
