Absolutely.....as long as the animal is deemed "Adoptable" they will try to adopt it out from the shelter. If a dog has heart worms, failed the temperament test, too old and sickly, or is just out of time....then they will call the appropriate Rescue. In that case....they only charge Rescue the $5.00 Rabies fee...on the way out the door. But if there is anyway to collect the $68 adoption fee..they will keep the dog.
