I got in a sweet little guy today who is named Ziggy. He came out of a hoarding situation in Ohio, then went to rescue in Texas, and was then transported here to California, where we aren't quite as full up as they are in Texas right now. Little Ziggy is a dear, sweet little guy who is rather shy and overwhelmed by it all just yet. But he isn't really afraid of people or the other dogs- just seems to be on overload. Who can blame him with all that he has been through. A hoarder (and who knows what, before the hoarder) then a shelter, then Ohio rescue, then Texas, then briefly with my rescue rep, now at my house. Poor little guy. It will be good to get him settled into a good permanent home and know that he can just stay put.

Sometimes I get so busy that I don't even post about new fosters. But he is number thirteen or fourteen we have had here. I have lost count I'm afraid.

  • Interests:My main interest is loving and caring for my 2 IG girls, Allie and Riley, as well as my cat, Sabrina. I adore all animals, but I have a passion for IGs. This passion began with my first IG, Tara, who is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love anything that involves IGs; spending time with Allie and Riley, attending East Coast IG Rescue events, SHOPPING for Allie's and Riley's wardrobes, and of course, communicating with other IG Whispers members. Aside from IGs, my interests include reading a variety of genres and being with friends and family, especially my 13 year old niece, Ella. Professionally, I am a reading specialist for first and second grades. Although I enjoy teaching, the best thing about my job is the long summer vacation, during which I am free to spend endless hours with Allie and Riley.

Gwen: Thank you so much for being a foster mom to this sweet guy and all of the others. His story sounds like my Vinnie's: he was in several places before I met him and he just did not deserve that. No dog does. He has been such a sweet gentleman from day one, but was a little overwhelmed at first, wondering how long he'd be in my home. It took him awhile to realize he IS home now and I will always be here for him. In the beginning he would get nervous if I took him to a new place; you could just see the fear of abandonment. Watching him become secure in his place here has been a wonderful thing to see. He is so special and shows his happiness all day, every day; he just melted my heart from day one, while at the same time helping it to heal. If he hadn't made it into rescue I would never have known this special little man. Every day I am sooo grateful that he did find his way to my home. And it's thanks to you and all the others in foster care who open their homes and hearts to them and then let them go on to start their new lives.

Ziggy: I wish for you a happy, stable home full of love. And toys and treats and walks and play. All the best little man.

Hey! That's really something that you know of this guy. It's too bad he is in Cali if your parents were thinking of adopting him... but the good news is that there are some folks here already interested in him. He is such a sweet little fella... a real heart stealer.

So are you fostering now?

That is great, he was a sweet boy with the most beautiful eyes!! I was fostering my dog, Max, until I decided I could not live without him and adopted him.
