I am Katie and my IG is Zeus. We are in college together, and we usually spend most of our time studying nutrition and training for marathons. Zeus has been my first animal that I have been solely responsible for, and what a learning experience it has been! I sort of acquired Zeus by accident, as I was not looking for a dog at the time nor was I even living in a pet-friendly apartment complex. I responded to a listing for an “outside” dog described as "worthless" and abused with no potential, even as a companion. The fact that he was free was an extreme plus to me as a college student, but I also felt in my heart that I could make a difference in his life. On the contrary and much to my surprise, he has been the one to make the real difference in my life. Although his trust issues have, indeed, been hard to overcome (he took 2 months to let my dad come near him and he lived with my parents for 2 months before I moved where I could keep him) he has made amazing progress and continues to amaze me every day. I really cannot remember what I did before he was in my life. Upon joining this site, I was seeking advice in how to help him cope with his post abuse issues because it was overwhelming. What I found here was a group of individuals whom possess a love for these animals that is contagious. I have fallen hard for my little boy, and so has my family. When we visit home, my parents are always outside waiting for us to arrive with anticipation to see my little bundle of love. Zeus’ personality and happy aura can bring an instant smile to any ones face. We have so much fun together and I love the attention and questions that I get from strangers with Zeus in tow.
